SJ Learns Partnership

The City of San José’s SJ Learns Grant Program, administered by the San José Public Library Foundation (SJPLF), aims to bolster academic achievement by funding promising and innovative expanded learning programs that serve San José public school students in transitional kindergarten through 3rd grade. SJ Learns provides school partners with resources that leverage their expanded learning budgets and relationships with their selected program providers to improve outcomes and increase access to high-quality programs for at-risk youth.

Through a partnership with Local Education Agencies (LEAs), SJPFL, and SCCOE, the SCCOE data warehouse has been leveraged to provide data on student performance for LEA grantees two times per year. This has allowed SJ Learns, its evaluation partners, and stakeholders to understand the impact of the initiative as it relates to student achievement.
